These terms are being drafted with legal advice and will be published in full before retale opens to the public. What’s below is a plain-English summary of how the site works — it isn’t a substitute for the full terms.

The short version

retale is a marketplace operated by Retale Marketplace Limited, a company registered in England and Wales. We connect people buying and selling secondhand books — we don’t own the books and we’re not the seller. Sellers are responsible for describing their books honestly and sending them as described.

We hold payments until a sale completes, and we’ll step in where something has clearly gone wrong. We can remove listings and suspend accounts that break these rules.

You need to be 18 or over to buy or sell on retale.
